PASTRY ASSISTANTS AND COOKS
We are seeking intelligent pastry chefs and cooks who are capable of the discipline, precision and dedication required in a kitchen where:
- The chef has 30 years of experience with farm-to-fine dining and a loyal following in the farmer's market community
- The menus change daily in response to farm harvests and availability
- We serve breakfast, lunch and private dinner parties almost every day of the week
- Critical thinking and a sense of urgency are key skills
- Personal responsibility to the success of the chef's vision and a humble willingness are at times more valued than technical prowess
- However, technical skills, proper training, and owning one's own tools are also important
FRONT OF HOUSE / RETAIL
- Customer service in our retail larder.
- Grace under pressure is crucial, as well as the ability to present a calm, welcoming demeanor to our guests.
- Only candidates with food service experience and/or retail experience in a comparable venue will be considered.
- Past experience in retail merchandising is preferable. This position involves maintenance and creation of our displays, which change daily.
- The ideal candidate has an ability to self-manage and a tendency to take the initiative in problem-solving.
- Knowledge of Micros POS is a plus, ability to learn this restaurant software is essential.
