in the tradition of our themed dinners at boulettes larder, on october 21, we will feature the wines and olive oil of our dear friend, dr. dino dina and his estate, cimarossa (red hill top) atop howell mountain in napa valley.

dr. dina's winemaker is the acclaimed sean capiaux, also of o'shaughnessy winery. we will be pouring a vertical representation of the cimarossa riva di ponente cabernets from 2004 through 2006, and the not yet released 2007.

cimarossa olive oil has been a staple at boulettes larder since 2005 when we met dino through a mutual friend. we look forward to dino's calls announcing his year's release. his oil is a blend of five olives (leccino, frantoio, pendolino, coratina and taggiasca), has tuscan characteristics and a slightly peppery finish.

the evening begins at 6:30, is by reservation only and seats are limited.

$175 per person inclusive.

tasting notes
2006: deep purple/red hues with aromas of black-raspberry cobbler & roasted espresso beans with a hint of minerality, reminiscent to rose petals and jasmine tea. full flavors of dark berry fruits fill the palate followed by a touch of bitter-sweet chocolate. fleshy and balanced, this wine has a wonderful concentration of flavor and a long, silky finish.
2005: deep ruby red color with a dark berry core. perfumed scents of raspberry, black currant and cinnamon spice. long and full flavors of blackberry and a mineral component on the palate with smooth and silky tannins.
2004: deep ruby/purple-tinged and offers loamy earthy aromas with flavors of spicy berry, chocolate, eucalyptus, herbs, plum, and black currant fruit.
